Q. Are [Communication Diagnosis] and [Port Diagnosis] different?
A.
Yes, Communication Diagnosis and Port Diagnosis are different.

1. Communication Diagnosis
This is a test to check whether communication between the controller connected to the TOP and the TOP itself is functioning properly.
If the communication diagnosis fails or an error occurs, it is usually due to a problem with the cable between the TOP and the controller, or incorrect communication settings. In such cases, please refer to the communication manual and ensure all settings are correct.

2. Port Diagnosis
This is a test to check whether the serial port of the TOP is functioning properly.
Port diagnosis is also called a loopback test. If the data sent out from the TOP is correctly returned to the TOP, the port is considered to be functioning properly from a hardware perspective.
Depending on whether you are using RS-232C or RS-422/485, you must short the relevant pins of the serial port with a clip or similar tool before performing the port diagnosis. If you run the [Port Diagnosis] without shorting the pins, an error will always occur.
If communication does not work even though the communication cable and settings are correct, or if you suspect a port malfunction, perform this test. If an error occurs, please request after-sales service (AS).
